Throughout 2012 we are sharing an illustration with you every week to help you to re-imagine the future that you choose. For the twentieth week of 2012 (please excise this coming so late in the week, we are putting the final touches on our book “The Future We Choose”), we are sharing Ikonika’s Future. Sara Abdel-Hamid, known as Ikonika in the music industry is an electronic musician, producer and DJ often associated with Hyperdub Records and the Dubstep genre.
The Future I Choose is one of progression. Finding warmth in yourself to succeed, live your dreams and share positive ideas. Forget all negativity and live your life according to you.

I chose Sara’s quote because finding warmth in yourself to succeed felt like an appropriate message for January! My interpretation of a heart rooting a beautiful tree is symbolic of growth, and the hand signifies caring for the world as well as ourselves. The cherry blossom falling is a metaphor for gifts and progression, with a girl ready to catch the flowers; alert to opportunity and full of hope
